Annual Democratic Club Charter Renewal

To maintain your club's official status with the Santa Barbara County Democratic Party (SBCDP), all chartered clubs must complete the annual renewal process as outlined in Article 700, Section 703 of the Bylaws. Charters are valid for one calendar year.

Renewal Requirements

To renew your charter, the Club President or Chairperson must submit the complete renewal package to the SBCDP Committee Chair (or their designee) prior to the renewal deadline (see above).

How long is a club charter valid?

What documents are required as part of the Annual Reporting?

The renewal submission must include:

  1. A Review of Activities from the prior year.

  2. A Statement of Support outlining any areas where the Committee's assistance is needed (Section 703).

Do we need to resubmit our Bylaws and Officer list every year?

Yes. Section 703 requires that clubs resubmit all standard chartering materials (as described in Section 702) to ensure the Committee has the most current information. This includes updated Bylaws, Statement of Purpose, Officer contact information, and meeting schedules.

What is the minimum membership requirement for renewal?

You must submit a current Membership Roster of no fewer than twenty (20) members (Section 702).

What specific information must be included for each member on the roster?

The roster must include the member's name, address, phone number, email address, and birthdate (Section 702).

Do we need to name a Central Committee Representative?

Yes. The renewal package must include the name, address, phone number, and email of the representative selected to serve on the Central Committee (Section 702). This person serves as your club's voice at Central Committee meetings.
