City Hall is Haunted

Halloween is right around the corner and you're probably making your final decisions on what to dress up as this year. Maybe you'll be a vampire? Or a ghost? Maybe a zombie? But what's really scares us this year is the current make-up of the Santa Barbara City Council.

The current conservative majority on the council has been slowly unraveling everything that Santa Barbara is about. That's why we've endorsed Cathy Murillo, Deborah Schwartz and Iya Falcone. We believe these candidates will work hard to bring back Santa Barbara's middle class, return Santa Barbara to its position as a leader in environmental protection, and keep government decisions open to the public.

This weekend, do a test run before you go out to trick-or-treat and walk your neighborhood for our endorsed candidates! Voters have their ballots, now we just need to encourage them to send them in and educate them about this year's ALL VOTE-BY-MAIL ELECTION.

MISSION

As Santa Barbara Democrats, we believe in a society and community based on solidarity and sustainability. We believe, quite simply that our country does better when everyone does better, and that we need to live in harmony with our environment. Our aim is to empower, educate and organize citizens and residents of Santa Barbara County. First and foremost, this means mobilizing voters to get to the polls and elect Democrats at all levels of government. We also hold elected officials accountable to the values and principles of our Democratic party, through public advocacy, coalition work, as well as through our endorsement process, which asks candidates seeking our support to pledge to put our shared values into practice.
