The Democratic Party of Santa Barbara County is seeking an Organizing Director. The Organizing Director will be largely responsible for coordinating, maintaining and supporting grassroots activity by the party, and its clubs. A strong candidate will have multiple election cycles of experience coordinating direct voter contact campaigns, and/or equivalent experience in community or issue-based organizing. The O.D. will work under the supervision of the Party Chair. Duties include but are not limited to:

Campaigns and Volunteer Management
- Recruiting and training volunteers for party events and election campaigns.
- Coordinating, as directed, joint electoral field operations for Party endorsed candidates.
- Supervising field organizers and interns
- Coordinating with endorsed candidate and issue-based campaigns
- Campaign budget design

Party-Building
- Support club growth and development
- Maintain Party voter database, CRM programs
- Support fundraising activities and events

Communications
- Sustain Party social media presence (website, Facebook, Twitter, etc)
- Informing and mobilizing the active membership of the party and the broad Progressive community for Party-endorsed activities, campaigns or events.

Preferred skills: Knowledge of PDI or other voter database system, knowledge of NationBuilder or similar CRM system, excellent written and verbal skills, graphic design, Spanish language.

Preferred Experience: Significant campaign experience, including managing and recruiting volunteers and organizing staff, designing voter contact campaigns and developing campaign budgets.

Salary based on experience. Partial coverage of health insurance. Paid vacation. Two-year commitment preferable.

Openings on Democratic Central Committee

As of the Primary elections, our local Party board will start a new term. 

Members of the Democratic Central Committee are elected each Presidential Primary by County Supervisor district. This year, there are a number of open seats in which nobody filed a candidacy before the election. The committee can begin filling these seats at its first meeting in July.

The DCC meets on the first Thursday of every month at Anderson's Pea Soup restaurant in Buellton. The vacancies are as follows:

3 vacancies in 1st district.
1 vacancy in 3rd district.
1 vacancy in 4th district.

In order to ensure our Democratic Party endorsed candidates are successful in the election we need everyone to volunteer some of their time to talk to voters. The Democratic Party of Santa Barbara County and Das Williams will be hosting a GOTV rally and neighborhood walk Sunday, October 25th.  We'll meet at Lower Bohnett Park, where we'll hear from our endorsed candidates, Andria Martinez Cohen and Cathy Murillo! Afterwards, activists will fan out to knock on doors for both Andria and Cathy. Sign up here!

2016 Democratic Presidential Debate Watch Party
